About the Cooking Lake Aviation Academy Facility

Cooking Lake Airport is situated at the northwest corner of Cooking Lake, approximately 15 kilometers southeast of Sherwood Park. It occupies 151.42 hectares and is used for privately owned seaplanes and small, wheeled aircraft. The lands around the airport property are primarily used for agricultural purposes.

The Academy owns two large aircraft hangars for it's own use. Our fleet of 10 aircraft fit in both of these hangars, our aircraft are maintained to Transport Canada Commercial Maintenance Standards in our own facilites by CLAA employed Transport Canada approved Aircraft Maintenance Engineers.

Recently Coooking Lake Aviation Academy acquired a large 24' x 60' classroom structure for on site Ground School use as well as other functions. We are presently offering two ground schools per week in this facility including Private and Commercial. Our classroom is equipped with male and female washrooms, coffee area, overhead digital projector for power point and video displays, digital overhead projector for display of any article that the instructor wishes to present on screen as well as seating for 30 students. We are very pleased to have this large on-site ground school classroom, stop by and check it out.
