PRIVATE PILOT LICENCE

The issue of a private pilot licence is the first step, whether your goal is to fly for recreation or as a career. Here is where we introduce you to the world of aviation and teach you the basics of flight. This licence allows you to fly a single engine aircraft with passengers during the day. A written test, flight test, and a medical test must be passed in order to obtain a private pilot licence.

Transport Canada requires a minimum number of flight hours, which consists of a combination of dual and solo flight training. Depending on how often a person fly´s and how much studying they do, many students find that slightly more than the minimum are required to meet the skill and knowledge of the flight test.

Transport Canada also requires a minimum amount of ground school before you are permitted to write the examination. To prepare Cooking Lake Aviation Academy student´s for this exam, a standardized ground school is conducted to Transport Canada specifications. In addition to classroom instruction, a self-paced study program and a wide selection of professionally produced video programs are available.

Preceding and concluding each flight lesson an individual ground briefing is conducted to ensure complete understanding of the lesson. This will serve to aid in the general improvement of flying skill and confirm knowledge retention.
